As a principal of Dr.Ambedkar college of Law, Mumbai. It is a matter of great honoured and pride for me to introduce the only premier law college in capital city of Maharashtra.
The college take a long journey of 43 years has established these institutions footprints in the area of legal education. It gives us a great pleasure to introduce ourselves to be one of the oldest law colleges in the town. The chief architect of constitution of India Bharatratna Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar has laid down certain objectives behind the foundation of People’s education Society’s and we are proud to march on the same, in order to fulfil the dream of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar.
In the field of legal Education law is a noble calling, and members of the legal profession occupy a very high status in any society. Since law is the foundation of every society or a nation, legal education of the people is a sine qua none. Significance of legal education in a democratic country cannot be over emphasized. It is a pivotal duty of every citizen to know the law of the land. Ignorance of law is not innocence, but a sin which cannot be excused. Legal education is imperative not only to produce good lawyers, but also cultured law abiding citizen who are inculcated with the concept of human values and human rights. The law being a tool for the social engineering, legal education can be regarded as an instrument for the social design. Keeping that in mind, People’s education Society’s took the lead and established Dr.Ambedkar
College of law in the Mumbai city. The college is approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi and it is affiliated to Mumbai University. It is offering three year LL.B course and Post graduate Diploma in labour law and labour welfare and Diploma in Taxation law courses. The college strives to achieve excellence in the field of legal education at par with the bench mark setup by People’s education Society’s of Colleges in providing quality education. ‘’Dr.Ambedkar College of law for an Education, and Education for All’ is the mission statement of People’s education Society’s. This noble mission is wedded to provide opportunity to the student community to acquire knowledge, and inculcate values. With the hard work and dedication of our Teaching members, Non-Teaching Members and students, we will be able to achieve our mission to make Dr.Ambedkar College of law, a centre of excellence, in the field of legal education in the City of Mumbai.
